  2. Structurile planare - PLANE "S" - sunt marcate de dezvoltarea în plan a constitu­entilor minerali sau de prezenta unei discontinuitati plane. Ele pot fi consecinta proceselor depozitionale (stratul, lamina) sau postdepozitionale (diaclaze, fisuri, stilolite, "con-în-con") si chiar tectonice (cute, falii).
