CRA Computing Leadership Summit (Feb 27) • Federal investment in computing research • Concern about funding levels and trends • Overall: flat or slightly down; low NSF CISE accept rates • DARPA: decrease, classification, short time horizon • Directions for action • Sharp story on value of CS research, & current risks • Engaging industry leaders, professional societies, etc. • Human resources pipeline • Concern about decreased interest in computing • For domestic students, and in coming from overseas • Directions for action • Improving our image, and engaging different groups
