IF – CDRC SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAMMES • Soil – Testing & Farm Advisory Services • Soil Testing • Labs established : Aligarh, Unnao, Deoria & Khagaria • Samples Tested : 1200 • Soil Health Cards : Issued to all • Farm Advisory Services • IFFCO Kiosk Portal established at all the centres • Technology Transfer through FLDS – Maize, Arhar, Rice, Wheat, Rapeseed & Mustard.

  12. NHM PROJECT PROPOSAL • Nursery Development • Improvement/Rejuvenation of Existing orchards • Organic Farming • Pollination support through Beekeeping • Human Resource Development

  13. 1.1 Nursery Development- Objectives • Enhance productivity of fruits, vegetables and flowers through quality planting material • Provide quality planting material to farmers at reasonable price • Train farmers in production of quality planting material • Disseminate nursery raising technology • To set up small model nurseries • Women development – (Promotion of group approach)

  14. 1.2 Nursery Development- Methodology • Selection of suitable site especially through Groups/Association/Co-op linked with the Foundation – 1300 SHGs (17,100 members-75% women)/25 Associations/300 Primary Cooperatives . • Soil and water analysis facilities at Aligarh, Unnao, Deoria & Khagaria. • Procurement of true to type planting material from genuine source i.e. IARI, IIVR, SAU, CISH • Raising nurseries under expert supervision • Registration of nurseries for sale/supply • Active involvement of SHGs/Associations/Cooperatives

  16. 2.1 Rejuvenation of Existing Orchards- Objectives • Make senile orchards productive and juvenile • • Adopt latest technology • • Alter varietal composition • • Introduce high density planting • • Enhance the profitability

  17. 2.2 Rejuvenation of Existing Orchards- Methodology • Identification of old Orchards • Top and Frame Working by Power Pruning Saw • Procurement of bud wood and scion from genuine source(already tied up with IARI/CISH/SAU). • Frame working with latest available varieties • Operations under expert guidance

  18. 2.3 Rejuvenation of Existing Orchards- Implementation Plan .

  19. 3.1 Organic Farming- Objectives • Ensuring sustainability of vegetable and fruit production • Improving quality/safety of produce • Reducing cost of cultivation • Improving soil health • Reduction in consumption of inorganics • Promotion of kitchen gardens through Groups/Associations/Cooperatives

  20. 3.2 Organic Farming- Methodology • Promotion of vermi-compost • Introduction of green manure • Conservation of natural resource • Introduction of organic package • Encourage contract farming

  22. 4.1 Pollination support Through Bee keeping- Objectives • Enhancing crop productivity by increased pollination • Providing diversified entrepreneurship • Additional income and employment generation • Empowering farm women

  23. 4.2Pollination support through Bee keeping- Methodology • Motivating farmers for beekeeping(training already taken up). • Establishing beehives at crop fields-(480 beehives) • Procurement of Apis mellifera from genuine source • Procurement, processing and marketing of honey • AGMARK obtained and marketing tied up with Dabur & Kejariwal Groups).
