Schedule • Need to field test items during operational testing window in 2010 • Two days needed to complete assessment • Day 1 on Thursday, October 14 • Day 2 on Wednesday, October 20
Constructed Response Prompts Student Writing Sample (GLCE: PR.03.04 or PR.06.03) What could the writer do to improve this sample? - 4 point holistic rubric - similar to rubric used from 2005-2008 - two pages provided
Constructed Response Prompts Narrative Writing (GLCE: GN.03.01 or GN.06.01) Similar to Writing from Knowledge & Experience prompts used from 2005-2008 Options limited to two with “write about XXX in your own way” Worded to encourage narrative writing Two pages provided
Constructed Response Prompts Informational Writing (GLCE: GN.03.03 or GN. 06.02) Assess various organizational patterns used in informational writing: descriptive, enumerative, sequence, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution Grade 4: comparison Grade 7: cause/effect

Results of Rubric Review 1. Revised statement for condition codes: Any condition code will result in a score of 0 for each trait 2. Possible to receive an earned 0 without a condition code 3. Revised wording for Informational Ideas and Narrative Ideas and Style
