Your Borrowing Privileges Loan Quota: 40 items (for any combinations)Hold Quota: 20 items Books: 30 days Media: 14 days Reserve Collection: 7 days CTRC Items: 14 days The initial loan periods of 14-day, 30-day and 90-day loan items will be reduced to 7 days, 15 days and 30 days respectively if the items have been held by other users when the items are being checked out.

Students and staff can request loanable materials housed in Tai Po MMW Library to be sent to the Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons for borrowing, or vice versa Only circulating/loanable materials can be requested for Inter-Campus Delivery. i.e. The material status must be available for loan Items cannot be requested for delivery within the same library unless the items are currently on loan. Hong Kong Academic Library Link • (香港高校圖書聯網) • Postgraduate Diploma Students can borrow 10 books from other UGC libraries via HKALL for 15 days • HKALL loan quota (10 books) included in HKIEd Library loan quota • Request books with available status only • Pick up books at MMW Library or Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons • You will be noticed by email when the item is ready for pickup • Require to pick up books within 5 days from the date of notification

Interlibrary Loan • If a journal article required is not found in the Library, use the interlibrary loan service to get an electronic copy Click & Fill in the online form
Joint University Librarians Advisory Committee (JULAC) Cards • UGC-funded Postgraduate Diploma (PGDE) students are eligible to apply for JULAC Cards • Visit and borrow items of other UGC libraries • Borrowing privileges may vary among libraries • Admission to some libraries may be restricted during “black-out” periods of peak seasons • Application can be made at the Circulation Counter, MMW Library or Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons
Book Return Service for JULAC Card Holders • You can return books borrowed with your JULAC cards at MMW Library or Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons • No overdue items • Must return books in person with your JULAC card at the Circulation Counter • At least 3 working days before the due date
Materials with loan period 14 days may be renewed three times The new due date is calculated from the date of renewal You cannot renew a checked-out item if : A hold or a recall has been placed The item is overdue Maximum no. of renewals has been reached RENEWAL
You can select to save your borrowing history Need to opt in to activate the service, otherwise default is no history recording You can choose to opt out at anytime but deleted history cannot be recovered Only HKIEd Library items will be saved in history, NOT applicable to HKALL items YOUR READING HISTORY

Notes Admission to the HKIEd Library is conditional upon the presentation of a valid HKIEd Identity Card or HKIEd Library Membership Card. Food and drink must not be brought into the Library. Except in designated discussion areas, library users must keep silent inside the Library, and must not cause disturbance to other library users and library staff. No seats may be reserved by placing materials on the desks or chairs. Personal belongings should not be left unattended anywhere in the Library.
