Day One: Friday, May 16, 2014 • Quiet Question: Type Two Prompt---Working with your partner, you will analyze the historical political cartoon below and answer the following Reflection Questions. • You will be using your China and Imperialism Graphic Organizer Notes from the last lesson. • YOU MUST USE HISTORICAL INFORMATION FROM YOUR NOTES WHEN ANSWERING EACH QUESTION!

  3. Question 1. Besides the Chinese dragon, what nations attacking the dragon are shown and labeled in the cartoon? Answer Lion – Great Britain Bear – Russia Leopard – Japan Wolf – Italy Rooster – France Eagle – Germany Double Headed Buzzard – Austria-Hungry Bald Eagle – United States Questions

Based on this fact and what we learned about China and Imperialism in the last lesson, how do you think Japan responded differently to Western Imperialism? • Class:Ms.Barben is going to begin her Japan and Imperialism Powerpoint, and you are to take notes in the provided graphic organizer. • This should be in PENCIL, BLACK, or BLUE PEN.

  12. Day Three: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 • Class: Ms. Barben is going to continue her Japan and Imperialism Powerpoint, and you are to continue to take notes in the provided graphic organizer. • Homework: Finish the chunked reading and note-taking. • This will be checked the next class period.

  13. Period One • If you are in Algebra I and taking the Keystone tomorrow, you need to do the following on your own: • Go to my powerpoint and get the last of the notes for the graphic organizer. • Begin the East Asia and Imperialism Summative Assessment Propaganda Poster following the chunking.

Day Four: Wednesday, May 21, 2014 • Class: Ms. Barben is going to finish her Japan and Imperialism Powerpont, and you are to finish the notes in the graphic organizer. • Class: We are going to watch “Japanese Expansion Before and During World War Two” on You Tube. • Homework: Begin the East Asia Propaganda Poster Summative Assessment gone over with the China and Imperialism Lesson Plan.
