Benefits of having friends: Teaches you to: • Communicate • Work out problems • Compromise (both sides agree to give up something) • Give others support • Consider other’s feelings • Let you share your life (good and bad)
Peer Pressure • Peers: people closest to you in age who are a lot like you • Peer pressure: the influence that your peer group has on you • Use the H.E.L.P. criteria to recognize negative peer pressure (Healthful, Ethical, Legal, Parent approved)
