Progress With Commissioning Plan ABT/BTP
Transfer Lines Commissioning • TCDI setup at 4.5 sigma around reference orbit: Ok • Dispersion mismatch measurements: Ok • Aperture measurements: Ok for amplitudes of 2-3 sigma (coupling studies), to be done for 4.5 sigma amplitude (machine protection validation).
Commissioning Tests @ Injection • Adjust collimator for injection protection: TDI, TCLI to 6.8 sigma (around golden orbit) Ok & interlocked (rechecked with high intensity 1.1×1011 p+) • MKI beam synchronization: Ok • MKI.P8 waveform with adjustment of kick delay (TDI at +/- 10 mm): Ok, must be done for P2 (not critical). • Loss maps during overinjection on PROBE (PROBE INDIV: 1.1×1011 p+) Ok (BLM thresholds had to be reviewed). • Loss maps during injection of nominal bunches: Ok • MKI limits in IPOC: to be adjusted
LBDS and Abort Gap Commissioning • Setup of TCDQ and TCSG@IP6 collimators around the golden orbit new injection settings defined with high intensity (1.1×1011 p+): TCDQ.B1 @ 19.4mm, TCSG.B1 @ 16.8/-15.5mm TCDQ.B2 @ 16.3mm, TCSG.B2 @ 13.4/-14.0mm (Old TCDQ.B1 @ 13.053mm, TCSG.B1 @ 8.23/-6.75mm TCDQ.B2 @ 15.16mm, TCSG.B2 @ 6.39/-7.69 mm). To be checked • Change logic of collimator application and sequencer when requesting to set TCDQ to present position: to be done • Beam size measurement at the TCDQ at 3.5 TeV: to be done • Check TCDQ HW energy interlock (functions): Ok • Insert settings in LSA: to be done when all fixed in terms of betas and settings • IP6 aperture measurements for circulating and extracted beam: Ok
LBDS and Abort Gap Commissioning • Complete analysis and cross-checks of losses at the TCTs during asynchronous beam dump: to be completed • Calibration of BLMs at TCTs in point 5: to be done. • Calibration of BLM at the TCDQ: Ok 1Gy ~ 9.2×1010 p+ 5.7×1011 p+ • LBDS system off with circulating beam: Ok, small losses on TCDS/TCDQ but both beams dumped correctly, no BETS error • RF frequency interlock: Ok • BPM interlock understand the remaining 20 mm offset at 450GeV: to be done • Losses at TCDS (3.5 TeV): to be understood
LBDS and Abort Gap Commissioning • Abort gap cleaning: to be done • Abort gap keeper fine adjustment: to be done (not critical) • 1 MKD kicker knob rechecked for B1 and B2: Ok, both beams extracted correctly for (validation old measurements).
