  11. PLANS for 2011-2012 • SEPTEMBER • Atlanta Chili Cook-off for Camp Twin Lakes • September 24, 2010 (10:30 a.m to 2:00 p.m) • 15 volunteers needed • Ticket sales • Assisting judges • Having a good time • For a great cause!

PLANS for 2011-2012 • OCTOBER • Speakers: Pediatric residents from Emory • October 6, 2011 • Spin for Kids Bike Race for Camp Twin Lakes • October 23-24, 2010 • Two day event • Assist with set-up, coordination of race, etc. • Scary OMM with OMM Club (?) • Do trick or treat with the kids before Scary OMM

  13. PLANS for 2011-2012 • NOVEMBER • Speaker: Dr. Neil Schulman!!!! • Writer for the movie DOC HOLLYWOOD • He is a great friend of real Patch Adams • He wrote the children’s book“What’s in a Doctor’s Bag?” and created programs to familiarize children with medical practice so they won’t be scared

  14. PLANS for 2011-2012 • NOVEMBER • Healthy Hearts (Still in the works..) • With Cardiology Club • Travel to local elementary school • Take preserved pig hearts • Explain to children (3rd-5th graders) about how to keep your heart healthy • Exercise • Nutrition • No smoking

  16. PLANS for 2011-2012 • JANUARY • Ronald McDonald Family House • “Breakfast Club” • Cook breakfast for families staying at the House while their children or family members are having treatment at Eggleston Hospital • 6-8 members can participate

  17. PLANS for 2011-2012 • February • Pediatric OMM event with Dr. Ehrenfeuchter • Evening event • Dinner provided • Staff members and student bring in their children • Dr. E shows us what manipulation can be done on children in the office/hospital setting
