Governance, democracy in villages • Rural economic development • Local environmental issues • Geopolitical perceptions • Local health issues • Microfinance • Tea trade Internships & Independent Research Improving Access to Quality Reproductive Health Services for Migrants in Urban areas of Yunnan Dissemination Workshop

  5. STRENGTHS • Yunnan (border province, ethnic diversity environmental hot spot, weather) • SIRYU support: Prof Zhao, resources, lectures • Counterparts • General willingness to meet, share, & discuss

  6. CHALLENGES • The coffee is terrible • Lots of “leg work” on the ground to set up internships • Being unable to read, write, or speak • Cultural barriers were at times difficult to overcome

  7. Overall • Program was a great success • Much learnt despite barriers • Everybody had a fun time
