  1. IMPROVING OF TGI BY USING COMPUTER ANALYSIS Presented by K.N.TALUKDAR XEN/CON/NFR U.ARULMOZHI AXEN/TMC/SR K.PRRABHAKAR REDDY AXEN/SYS/SR SATYANNARAYAN AXEN/CON/WR GUIDED BY Sri R.K.VARMA Sr.Prof.(Track)

  2. INTRODUCTION • TRACK COMPONENTS ARE MANUFACTURED WITH STANDARDS,SATISFYING THE PRESCRIBED QUALITY AND SPECIFICATIONS AS PER STIPULATIONS LAID BY INDIAN RAILWAYS. • TRACK IS LAID WITH APPROVED GEOMETRY PRESCRIBED BY RAILWAYS

  3. TRACK GEOMETRY / TRACK COMPONENTS GET DETERIORATED/DISTORTED IRRESPECTIVE OF STRENGTH, DURABILITY AND EXPOSURE TO VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS DESPITE OF REGULAR MAINTAINANCE. • THE PARAMETERS OF SUCH DETERIORATED TRACK IS MEASURED AND COMPARED WITH THE SET THRESHOLD VALUES • TRACK IS BEING SUBJECTED TO UNBALANCED FORCES DUE TRAFFIC OF DIFFERENT DENSITY IN DIFFERNT LOADING CONDITIONS • MICRO PROCESSOR BASED TRACK RECORDING CAR RECORDS TRACK GEOMETRY PARAMETERS BLOCK OF EACH 200m STRETCH IN TERMS OF STANDARD DEVIATION AND ALSO RECORDS PEAK EXCEEDANCES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS.

  4. THE DATA SO RECORDED IS LIKE HEAP OF STONES OF VARIOUS PARAMETERS THAT ARE KEPT ON A FLOOR • INTERPRETATION OF VARIOUS PARAMETERS MEASU RED BY TRC FOR ASSESMENT OF THE TRACK CONDITION IS A DIFFICULT TASK. • THE NEED FOR A INDEX FOR INDICATING THE OVER ALL HEALTH OF THE TRACK HAS, THEREFORE ALWAYS BEEN FELT.

  5. Topics for Discussion • TRACK MONITORING • TYPE OF TRACK MONITORING • TGI • FACTORS CONSIDERATION IN TGI • THRESHOLD VALUES OF TGI. • HOW TGI PARAMETERS ARE RECORDED IN TRC. • WHY ANALYSIS ARE REQUIRED. • WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS IN ANALYSIS. • ANALYSIS WITH COMPUTER PROGRAMME. • FINDING OUT BLOCK WISE DEFECTS. • REMEDIAL MEASURES. • CONCLUSION
