Temporary Traffic Arrangement on Campus Circuit • To allow access for CEDD construction vehicles • Restricted hours : • 9:30am to 6:30pm • Monday to Friday, except Public Holidays and University’s special event dates • Volume of construction traffic : • not exceed 21 round trip per hour at peak • about 14 round trip per hour in average • Commence on 15 January 2008 tentatively • Last for about 1.5 years (1/2008 – 7/2009)
Preventive Measures • Each and every CEDD construction vehicles shall bear a permit. • No queue up or stay on Campus Circuit or within Campus. • Access only allowed to the designated haul route area. • Access to other area such as canteen, washroom is prohibited. • No black smoke emission vehicle is allowed. • No construction waste etc. can be disposed in the Campus. • Daily in/out log sheets shall be submitted to Security and Transport Office.
Preventive Measures • Dust mitigation measures such as wheel wash, canvas cover to loads. • Daily cleaning on Campus Circuit. • Cleaning at open area and watering nearby vegetation if found necessary. • Noise Control Ordinance and its subsidiary regulations will be strictly complied. • Junction of Bridge No. 2 and Campus Circuit is being widened.
Monitoring and Communication • On top of CEDD’s monitoring measures, the University would set up a monitoring system to carry out regular measurement and inspection. • For better communication, University will set up a liaison group. • Duties include • periodic review and comment the arrangement of fill transportation works, monitoring system, monitoring results and dust/noise mitigation measures. • communicate with CEDD and the University community.

Opening hours at Eastern Gate • The University has reviewed the current traffic using the Eastern Gate and will extend its opening hour. • Effective from 10 February 2008, the opening hour is • from 7:00am to 12:00 mid-night daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays.
