  1. WELCOME HOŞGELDİNİZ CAHİT KURAL PRIMARY SCHOOL THE TURKISH EDUCATION SYSTEM

  2. In Turkey the primary education is 8 years and it is compulsory. It is separated into two parts named the first level and the second level. Türkiye’de ilköğretim 8 yıldır ve mecburidir. İlköğretim 1. kademe ve 2. kademe olarak iki bölümdür.

  3. The first level is 5 years and in the first three grades, all the lessons have been instructed by the same teacher. For the 4th and 5th grades some lessons like Music, English, P.E., Art and Religion are instructed by their own professional teachers. 1. Kademe 5 yıldır ve ilk 3 yıl tüm derslere tek bir öğretmen girer. 4. ve 5. sınıflarda Müzik, İngilizce, Beden Eğitimi, Görsel sanatlar, ve Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi gibi derslere branş öğretmenleri girer.

  4. The second level is 3 years. All the lessons are instructed by their own professional teachers. The lessons are Maths, Music, Science, P.E., English, Art ,Technology and Design, Computer Sciences, Social Sciences, Turkish, Religion, Guidance. 2. Kademe 3 yıldır. Tüm derslere branş öğretmenleri girer. Verilen dersler şunlardır; Matematik, Müzik, Türkçe, Fen ve Teknology, Beden Eğitimi, İngilizce, Görsel Sanatlar, Bilişim Teknolojisi, Sosyal Bilgiler, Teknoloji ve Tasarım, Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi, Rehberlik.

  7. In primary schools the duration of a lesson is 40 minutes. In high schools it is 45 minutes and in universities it is 50 minutes. The breaks are 10 minutes. In primary education some schools have full day education and some have dual education. In full day education the school starts at 9:00 and ends at 14: 50. There is a lunch break between 12:20- 13:20 (for 1 hour). In the morning there are 4 lessons and in the afternoon there are 2 lessons. In dual education there are two shifts; morning shift and noon shift. Morning shift starts at 7:30 and ends at 12:30. Noon shift starts at 12:40 and ends at 17: 30. Duration of the lessons / Time SchedulesDers süreleri ve giriş-çıkış zamanları İlköğretimde 1 dersin süresi 40 dk.’dır. Lisede 45 ve üniversitede 50 dk’dır. Teneffüs süresi 10 dk’dır. İlköğretimde bazı okullarda eğitim tekli, bazılarında ikili olarak uygulanmaktadır. Tekli eğitimde dersler 9’da başlar ve 14:50’de biter. Öğlen 12:20 ile 13:20 arasında 1 saatlik öğle yemeği molası verilir. İkili eğitimde, sınıflar sabahçı ve öğlenci olarak ayrılır. Sabahçı sınıflar derse 7:30’da başlar ve 12:30’da bitirir. Öğlenci sınıflar derse 12:40’da başlar ve 17:30’da bitirir.

  8. The Books Kitaplar The books which are used in lessons during every educational period are delivered to the students free of charge by the government. Okullarda okutulacak kitaplar öğrencilere her eğitim öğretim yılında devlet tarafından ücretsiz olarak dağıtılır.

Our Pledge - Andımız Everyday students go into the school with a ceremony and in this ceremony they take an oath with ‘Our Pledge’. Hergün okula törenle girilir. Bu törende ‘Andımız’ okunarak yemin edilir.

Independence March ( National Anthem) İstiklal Marşı On Monday mornings & on Friday afternoons it is held a ceremony in which students sing The Independence March. Her Pazartesi sabahı ve her Cuma akşamı okulda tören düzenlenir. Bu törende İstiklal Marşı söylenir.

  11. UniformÜniforma Students should wear a uniform which is chosen by the school. Öğrenciler okula, okul tarafından belirlenen okul üniforması ile gelirler.

  12. An academic year is seperated into two terms. The first term ends at the end of January and students are given a report card. Then they have 15 days semester holiday. Teachers have the same holiday too. The second term ends at the end the second week of June. Then students are given a report card again and the summer holiday begins till the end of the second week of September. ReportCards and Terms Karneler ve Dönemler Eğitim öğretim yılı 2 dönemden oluşur. 1. dönem Ocak ayının sonunda biter ve öğrencilere karne verilir. Öğrenci ve öğretmenler 15 günlük sömestre tatili yaparlar. 2. dönem Haziran ayının 2. haftasının sonunda biter. Öğrencilere karne verilir ve Eylül ayının 2. hafta sonuna kadar tatil yaparlar.

  13. In a term, the lessons which are 2 hours or less in a week are measured in max. 2 exams. The lessons which are 3 hours in a week are measured in 2 or 3 exams. The lessons which are more than 3 hours in a week are measured in 3 exams. In addition to the exams students do performans duty in each terms and make a project in an academic year. These are also measured by the teachers. Exams & Measurement Sınavlar ve değerlendirme Bir dönemde, ders saati haftada 2 saat veya daha az olan derslerden maksimum 2 sınav yapılır. Ders saati haftada 3 saat olan derslerden 2 veya 3 sınav yapılır. Ders saati haftada 3 saatten daha fazla olan derslerden 3 sınav yapılır. Sınavlara ilaveten öğrenciler her dönem performans görevi ve yılda bir kez proje hazırlarlar. Bunlarda öğretmenler tarafından değerlendirilir.

The points that the students are taken from the exams are turned into marks according to the following schedule; Points Marks 0- 44 1 45- 54 2 55-69 3 70-84 4 85-100 5 MarksNotlar Öğrencilerin aldığı tüm puanlar aşağıdaki baremine göre nota dönüşür.   15. e- Schoole- Okul All the points, that the students are taken for each lessons, are loaded to the web based e-school system. Also the exam dates are loaded to this system so that the parents can see. Velilerin takip edebilmesi için öğrencilerin aldığı tüm puanlar ve sınav tarihleri öğretmenler tarafından e-okul adındaki internet tabanlı sisteme girilir.

  16. 8th grade students must participate an exam called SBS to attend a high school. With the points that are taken from this exam they can attend High Schools, Vocational schools, Anatolia High Schools, Science High Schools. After 4 years education in High Schools, students have to participate an exam called YGS to attend a university. However, students can’t attend a university or a department of a university that they really want to which makes them disappointed. SBS & YGS exams SBS ve YGS sınavları 8. Sınıf öğrencileri bir üst öğretim kurumlarına gidebilmek için SBS adındaki sınava girmek zorundadır. Bu sınavdan aldıkları puanlarla Lise ve dengi okullara girerler. 4 yıllık Lise eğitiminden sonra, öğrenciler bu kez Üniversiteye gidebilmek için YGS adındaki merkezi sınava girmek zorundadır. Ancak, öğrencilerin tümü istedikleri okul veya bölümde okuyamamaktadır. Bu da hayalkırıklığı yaratmaktadır.

  17. Teachers Öğretmenler Teachers should put on according to the regulations. They have to work till the end of June. They have holidays till September (for 2 months) . They make preparations for 15 days before the students start school in September. Teachers’ salary is between 1000- 1200 $. Öğretmenler kılık-kıyafet yönetmeliğine uygun olarak okula gelirler. Haziran ayının sonuna kadar çalışırlar. 1 Temmuz – 1 Eylül arasında 2 ay tatil yaparlar. Öğrenciler okula başlamadan yaklaşık 15 gün seminer ve hazırlıklarla geçer. Öğretmen maaşları aylık 1000-1200 $ arasında değişmektedir.
