  2. Dengue Fever • Dengue fever is a disease caused by a family of viruses that are transmitted by mosquitoes. • The symptoms are headaches, fever, exhaustion, severe muscle and joint pain, swollen glands, and rash.

  3. Contagious and Curable? • It isn’t contagious due to the fact that its passed from mosquitos infecting your blood. • Because dengue fever is caused by a virus, there is no specific medicine or antibiotics to treat the disease.

  4. Dengue Fever • Dengue fever is also know as DHF- Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever • Hemorrhagic- bleeding • Circulatory collapse- shock- one of the symptoms to DHF • Petechiae- small red or purple splotches or blisters under the skin

  5. Real Life Experience • Rihanna’s father-Ronald Fenty had gotten hospitalized for Dengue Fever and nearly had died from it. He had gotten it while visiting his daughter at her home in Barbados. -“It was horrible. I thought I was going to die.” he said to The Sun newspaper.
