They will also be able to answer questions on the facts they have learned. • Content Standard:3.0 5.0 • Accomplishment: After finishing the slide they will know many different facts about the state of Tennessee by memory.

Facts • Visit this website to read about different facts about Tennessee. http://awesomeamerica.com/tennessee/ • The word Tennessee comes from an Indian word “Tana see” which means “the meeting place”. • Tennessee entered the union as the 16th state in 1796. • The capitol of Tennessee is Nashville.

  4. Facts • The state bird is the mocking bird. • The state flower is the iris. • The state tree is the tulip poplar. • The state wild animal is the raccoon.

  5. The State Flag The three stars stand for the three main geographical area of the State: *East Tennessee *Middle Tennessee and *West Tennessee.
