Visitors to the Classroom. When I am at school different people may stop at our classroom. Sometimes I will already know these people. Sometimes these will be people I am meeting for the first time. Sometimes the teacher knows when people will come. Some people who visit will be an “ad lib”.

It is OK to have visitors. I will try to wave or say “hello” to visitors. When people visit, they may say “hello” to me or ask about what I am doing.
If visitors speak to me it will make them feel happy if I answer their questions in a quiet voice. It is OK to ask them quietly, “How long will you stay?” That way, I will know when they are planning to leave.
If I am busy working, I could answer their questions or say “hello” and tell them, “I am busy right now,” in a calm and quiet voice.
It is OK to stop and say “hello” to a classroom visitor. I might have fun speaking to this person. It is OK when an “ad lib” happens. I can speak with a visitor and then get back to work.
