Choosing an eye tracker Choosing an eye tracking device is a balance between performance, participant comfort and setup constrains. • Desktop mount • high sampling rate (up to 2000 Hz) • high precision and resolution • uncomfortable for writing Some possible adaptation ? 10-12 April 2012, Mshs, University of Poitiers, France
Remote mount: • low (30 Hz) to high sampling rate (up to 1000 Hz) • medium precision and resolution • comfortable for writing • But problems to setup for writing: • with these systems, eye must be “filmed by under” (upper eyelid) • arm can pass between camera and eye causing temporary(but frequent) lost of eye picture 10-12 April 2012, Mshs, University of Poitiers, France
Head mounted • low (60 Hz) to medium sampling rate (up to 500 Hz) • medium precision and resolution • comfortable for writing 10-12 April 2012, Mshs, University of Poitiers, France
