Third grade students were studying plants in Science. In art we looked at the work of artist Georgia O’Keefe. We noticed she painted her flowers enlarged. She painted them this way because she wanted the people of New York to have to stop and look at the beauty of a flower. It is hard not to notice the beauty of these third graders wonderful paintings. Fifth Grade students used math to create their artwork. They were all given a set of seven directions to follow. When finished we shared how each piece of art looked completely different from one another's, even though we had the same directions. They completed their artwork by adding painting. Very creative minds!
