Women Co-op Societies etc. All cooking ingredients and other commodities are locally purchased by the Self Help Groups / DWCRA/ Regd. Women Co-op Societies as per the requirement. Evaluation • Two Evaluation studies were conducted. • Evaluation study was conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai December, 2009. • During the month of October – November, 2010 Jawaharlal Nehru RajkeeyaMahavidyalaya, Port Blair conducted an evaluation study on nutritional values of the meals supplied to the students under the scheme. The report was satisfactory.

  22. Capacity building • A capacity building and training programme was arranged for all the DDOs / Head of Institutions to enrich their knowledge in the matter.

  23. Proposal for Construction of Kitchen-cum-Store • A proposal for release of Rs 12 crores construction of 235 kitchen sheds was received. • Due to paucity of funds in the head, Rs. 45.09 Lakh was released for construction of 5 units of Kitchen sheds to the UT on March-2010.The UT has surrendered the amount as it has been received at the fag end of the year. • For the FY 2011-12 the UT has proposed to construct 244 kitchen sheds. • Rs. 12.59 crore Central Assistance is required.   24. SSMC Meeting • Various committees at State, District & Block level have been constituted to strengthen and to oversee the smooth implementation of the scheme. • State Level Steering Cum committee has been constituted on 29th November 2005. • The last meeting was held on 01.11.10.

  25. GRIEVANCE REDREESSAL MECHANISM • At present Grievances Redressal Mechanism is functional and established in the Directorate of Education, MDM Cell with a dedicated telephone number. • Remedial action taken in the matter is communicated to party concerned with in 02 days of receipt of complaint
