Sperm Production • Millions are produced daily at the onset of puberty. • The sperm travel through the vas deferens to the seminal vesicle • The seminal vesicle adds a fluid to provide energy for active sperm • Prostate gland adds fluid that protect sperm • Bulbourethral glands add a fluid that protects sperm from acidic conditions in the urethra • The mixture of these fluids is called semen
Keeping healthy • Cleanliness: Thoroughly clean. If uncircumcised, pull foreskin back to clean. Dry thoroughly • Sexual Abstinence • Protection from Trauma: Cup, supporters. Ect • Self-Exams: Look for testicular cancer. Pg 476 and 477. Also seek medical attention if anything seems out of the ordinary • Medical Check ups
