  2. # 1 – Advising Online CNM’s Academic Advisement and Career Development department is delighted to provide our students with the chance to chat with an advisor from the comfort of home or work. In order to make your online session the best that it can be, we have listed some useful tips below. Recommended for online advisement: • General information regarding policies and procedures • Help with enrollment and getting started at CNM • Prerequisite overrides • Specific information about classes and/or programs, referrals to program contacts Not recommended for online advisement: • Financial Aid questions – Here is the link for Financial Aid’s online advisement: http://www.cnm.edu/depts/ssa/onlineadvfass.php • Detailed career exploration is best done in person • Repeat overrides requires a face to face meeting with an advisor • Planning a class schedule for the next term is best handled in person • Degree audits cannot be done online, students can come in to our office to have an advisor do one or visit this link for a do-it-your self degree audit: http://www.cnm.edu/depts/aacd/DocFiles/Do_It_Yourself_Degree_Audit-DKlweb.htm

Each career profile is comprised of a “day-in-the-life” video, interactive video questions/ answers, and relevant text information so that people can make educated decisions about their future. • And much, much more!
