  3. ZUMBA CLASSES will start Saturday, March 24. We will meet on Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:00 for fun and exercise. The sessions will be held in the upstairs choir room. Cost is $5/person with a free will offering for the use of the space. Be sure you have eaten breakfast before coming to class (so no one passes out on me from low blood sugar).   4. PLEASE NOTE: Ralph Whitmore, Glade Cemetery caretaker, has requested that all lot owners remove any decorations by Friday, March 30. The cemetery will be cleaned up on Saturday, March 31 and anything left on the lots will be thrown away.

  5. NEW CHURCH WEBSITE The Church Council’s Website Committee is proud to introduce WUMC’s new website at www.walkUMC.org. It is designed to be brighter and more user friendly and to offer content and capabilities to feature and enhance the work of our ministries and the life of our church. Expect to see new church email addresses soon using our new website!

  6. SILK/ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS NEEDED: The Worship Committee is looking for donations of silk/artificial flowers for the church's Easter cross. These will help the cross look beautiful longer and remind us and our community of renewal and re-birth. Please put your flowers in the marked box near the Sunday school office.  Thank you!

  7. Easter Egg-Stravagansza is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. in GH.  We will be making crafts, playing games, and having an Easter Egg Hunt.  We will also get a special visit from the Easter Bunny!

  8. Children’s Clothing Consignment Sale Want to purchase quality children's clothing at a fraction of department store prices? Put this date on your calendar!: Saturday, March 31 from 8:30-noon in Georgetown Hall. Consignees, please bring clothing Friday, March 30 from 4:30 to 7PM.   9. Join us on Tuesday, May 1st, from 2-8 p.m. for our Blood drive in GTH

  10. The Youth are working to get new carpet for the Youth Room! So far they have raised, over $900, but they are still in need of $1200. Please check the Breeze way for needed donation items

  11. EASTER SERVICES: HOLY THURSDAY will be “Celebration of the Last Supper.” A light meal of various soups and breads will be served in GH beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5. After dinner, Pastor Colin will lead communion. The choir will be performing. GOOD FRIDAY will be The Seven Last Words, facilitated by Kathleen White. It will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 6. A meal will be served from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. SUNDAY SUNRISE SERVICE will be held at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 8 in the WUMC cemetery. Communion will be given at this service. Seating will be provided.

  13. 2012 Offering Envelopes The 2012 Offering Envelopes are now available for pick up in GTH. Please inform Nancy Jones if you use online banking and no longer need envelopes or if you have never had envelopes and would like them.

  17. Adult/College ASP This summer, join our you adults/adults for a mission trip with ASP. The week is June 6, 2012 at the Chavies Housing Service Center of ASP. This date is specifically for college/adult groups. Submit the application to register at http://asphome.org/apply to volunteer. Adult rate is $325 per person. See Bryn Gibson for details.

  18. CORNUCOPIA PROJECT This spring the Walkersville United Methodist Church is planting a vegetable garden! We need help to support our community and Glade Valley Food Bank. We are in need of volunteers to help tend the garden, donate supplies, or whatever else you are able to do.
