This Year in Science 7th Grade Quarter 1 Rocks and Minerals – Mineral Project and rock project Quarter 2 Plate Tectonics, Volcanoes & Earthquakes – geologic project Quarter 3 Astronomy – Seasons, Moon Phases, Solar System, Galaxies - moon phase project Quarter 4 Ecology – Ecosystems, Predator/Prey - Zoo Project * There will be homework – Check agenda or website

This Year in Science 8thGrade Quarter 1 Matter and Energy – Mystery Item Project Quarter 2 Chemistry – Periodic Table Project Quarter 3 Ecology – Build a Beast Project Physics – Roller Coaster and Rube Goldberg projects Quarter 4 Heredity and Genetics –Chromosomes project * There will be homework – Check agenda or website

Assignment Policies • Grading • 20% Classwork/Homework (Practice) • 40% Labs and Projects (Assessments) • 40% Tests and Quizzes (Assessments) • Late work- unless absent or pre-arranged • 10% off per day late • Will not accept after 2 weeks • Absent – 1 day for every day absent to make up work • Not penalized unless it becomes late
