Grass Root Innovation HOW GOVERNMENT MONEY SHOULD BE USED TO BRING CHANGE IN THE SOCIETY AND AT THE GRASS ROOT LEVEL Business Chinese (A) Presented By Akhilesh Jaiswal | Bhor Singh Yadav | Emil Joseph | Prashant Patel Rohit Garhwal | Sunil Kumar Chhipa
Issues at Present THE NEED OF THE HOUR IS TO ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING ISSUES AT GRASS ROOT LEVEL TO BRING CHANGE, REFORM AND INNOVATION AT A BIGGER LEVEL. LACK OF EDUCATION UNEMPLOYMENT POOR HEALTH FACILITIES AND SANITATION SERVICES LACK OF PRIVATE INVESTMENT IN RURAL SECTOR TOO MUCH DEPENDENCY ON AGRICULTURE AND THAT IS TOO PRIMITIVE TYPE LACK OF CREDIT AND CAPITAL TO INVEST IN ALL THESE AREAS LACK OF PROPER/BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE LIKE ROAD, ELECTRICITY, WATER
How can we do it??? THE LIST OF THE ISSUES IS VERY LONG AND WE HAVE TO ADDRESS EACH AND EVERY ISSUE WITH UTMOST IMPORTANCE. THEN ONLY WE CAN PROCEED TOWARDS INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT CREATING AGGREGATE MARKET FOR ALL AT LOCAL LEVEL AND THE BRANDING SHOULD ALSO BE DONE AT LOCAL LEVEL GIVE POOR, UNDERPRIVILEGED AND FORGOTTEN PEOPLE ACCESS TO CAPITAL THROUGH BANKS AND MICROFINANCE INSTITUTIONS CREATING KNOWLEDGE SHARING CENTRES, LIKE VILLAGE PANCHAYAT LEVEL OR BLOCK LEVEL
Create Entrepreneurship Network Transform them Grass root Innovators Entrepreneurs • Identification of these innovators (how to reach them?) • Need distributed centres across the country where these people can register their • innovations • Funding channel available to these people to develop their idea into marketable • product (Can innovative banking solutions be devised for it?) • Product marketing, IPR laws, business related trainings etc. need to be provided • Platform made available for these entrepreneurs to market their product and • do networking (“Quanxi”)
Suggestions • More investment in infrastructure, rather than subsidy • Set up rural technology delivery centers supported by R&D laboratories • Selection of modern science and technology for rural industrialization • Voluntary organizations (private and public companies) to provide managerial & technical inputs for grass root level innovations • Use of students for educating rural people, as their internship project or part of university curriculum • Give educational project to college and let them do it as a group level
