  2. The Paris Peace Conference had limited armaments for Germany and her Allies. The Factors of support: • The League of Nations supported for a more peaceful world • The belief that it would reduce chance for further war • The sheer cost after the Great Depression in 1929 • Optimism after Locarno Pact that served to support peace in the Rhineland

  3. Problems of the Conference • There was increased demand for the revision of the Paris Peace settlements • Problems between identifying the differences between defensive and offensive weapons • Disarmament could not proceed unless all countries felt secure in reducing their armaments, linked to post depression realism and Nationalistic viewpoints

  4. The Failures: • Germany used the conference as an opportunity to expose the other countries hypocrisy and they withdrew from the Geneva Conference twice • The conference ended without any agreements being reached
