  2. Introduction born: On march 16,in Port Conway, Virginia. Died: June 28, 1836 Elected: On March fourth 1809

  3. Family + Education James mother was named Eleanor. James father was also named James. James had 12 siblings and he was the oldest! James was home schooled. When James was 11 he went to school. He went to college in 1769. James road a horse all the way to the college of New Jersey. James graduated in 1771. James finished college in two years.

  4. Family Life James married Dolly Todd on September 15, 1794. James did not have any pets.

  5. The Election James choose George Clinton as his vice president for his first term and he choose Elbridge Gerry for his second term. In James first term his opponent was Charles C. Pinckney. James had 122 votes and Charles had 47 votes.

  6. Events France and Great Britain were at war. James tried to keep the U.S neutral, but the U.S had to go out to war. This was important because if the U.S was not neutral many people would die.
