Viewing Meter Read Data Managing Electric Meters Available read data is dependent on the type of meter and features supported:
Comparing Register Read with C12.19 For legacy meters without C12.19 support, interval read data is requested from the meter by the Sensus SmartPoint module For meters with C12.19 support, read data is provided via the SmartPoint module through supervisory messages of standard length For meters with C12.19 support and ESM enabled, read data is provided via the SmartPoint module through enhanced supervisory messages of variable length
Additional Read Data Available with ESM If supported by the meter, you can also collect End Readings and Snapshot data End Readings provide a reading that is time-aligned with interval reads • Used for obtaining a cumulative value of load profile data Snapshot readings provide a non-time-aligned reading on transmit of ESM packet • Used for measuring values not provided in load profile; such as click count • No history is provided with this read type
Time-of-Use Reads Read data is collected at standard intervals, but billing is based on actual usage during a given timeframe versus a calculated or estimated usage value Uses Tiered billing rate structure Selected meters support ESM and TOU
