What is Cubism? • Cubism is a style of abstract art where most objects seem in a cube like way with straight lines. • It was made by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braques in the beginning of the 20th century and was the first style of modern abstract art. This was a new way of seeing art
“The Factory” • This is an artwork that Pablo Picasso made, it is an oil on canvas made in 1909. • Pablo Picasso is from Spain and was born on 1881 and died on 1973 http://www.artyfactory.com/art_appreciation/art_movements/art%20movements/cubism/picasso_cubism.jpg
The inspiration of cubism • There was a lot of innovation between 1870 and 1910 and photography started to replace art so Pablo Picasso made a new type of artwork called Cubism to keep art new and interesting. Cubism is very weird and I don’t really understand it but it looks kind of cool.
What is the difference? • Cubism has many different perspectives from different angles of the view of the object other than still life art works which are obvious just by look. • Cubism is different from the still life art works I drew because it is much more abstract and a little funny looking.
