  2. Official Facts about Sapphire • Sapphire is SAP’s primary sales and marketing event . Attendees include customers, prospects, partners, press and analysts, as well as SAP employees. • It takes place once a year in the US and Europe. • This year’s motto is introducing a new model for ecosystem co-innovation, helping to transform SAPPHIRE from a vendor conference to an industry forum that supports companies in collaboratively addressing IT and business challenges. • In addition, SAP and the Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) are co-locating their premier events drawing an attendance of 16,000 visitors. • SAPPHIRE will feature: • Customer, partner and SAP presentations, highlighting the “best run business” motto. • SAP’s product road map, including the near-term plan for delivering the first fully integrated software suite built on a flexible business process platform. • ASUG sponsors: • Customer and SAP presentations focused on implementation aspects • Networking

Sapphire: What to expect We have designed your Sapphire experience to allow you to further explore customer and user needs in a software context as well as understand options for solution design. • The goal is to get a broad understanding of the enterprise software world – the different players, products, and problems–and to find ideas, tools, and technologies that might be relevant to the d school class project, and beyond.
