Competition Venue • General Information • An Oscar Niemeyer Architecture icon, home of the famous Carnavalparade, in the heart of the City Centre. • Sports: Archery and Athletics Marathon • Olympic Capacity: 6.000 • Paralympic Capacity: 4.200 • Distance from Village 32 km (40 min) • Distance from IBC/MPC: 29 km (35 min)
1. Competition Venue • Status • The facilities renovation started in April 2011, with the demolition of a factory at the Southwest side of the venue • End of construction is planned for the first quarter of 2012.

5. Competition Manager Appointment • To be selected in collaboration with FITA • Once identified, FITA will assist with training and qualification

NTOs Qualification Program • Activities in progress • Project development • Next Steps (Sep/11) • Information research in collaboration with FITA regarding the required technical level and number of Tos. • Analysis of the current status of TOs in Brazil and main requirements for Rio 2016 Games. • Definition of a joint strategy between Rio 2016, FITA, and CBTarco for NTOs qualification and training programs until the Games.

Rio 2016 Test Events • Activities in progress • Development of a Rio 2016 Test Events tentative proposal, led by Rio 2016 Sport • Definition of a Level of Services Matrix by other Rio 2016 Functional Areas • Archery initial proposal: 1st week of August 2015 • Competition format to be discussed with FITA according to Rio 2016 planning and testing requirements • Next Steps (Aug-Oct/11) • Further development of the concept incorporating feedback from Rio 2016 Functional Areas • Submit a refined proposal for Rio 2016 Executive Operations Director, for analysis and approval • Establishment of a Internal Working Group with representatives of other Rio 2016 Functional Areas
