Getting things to the ground ISDC 2004 Workplan (revised): • Gateways and Clusters: Inter-jurisdictional strategy for Internet service delivery • Channel integration: inter-jurisdictional opportunities for call centres, in-person counters • Regional engagement: regional forums for engaging across all levels of government

Gateways and Clusters Focus on: • Sustainability strategies • Interjurisdictional collaboration Objectives: • Streamline efforts between jurisdictions • Develop horizontal principles • Develop protocols, e.g. hyper-linking, meta-tagging • Undertake shared activities, e.g. service transformation across jurisdictions

  4. Inter-jurisdictional Channel Integration Focus on: • Call centre, in-person counters • Potential reciprocal services • Technology requirements Objectives: • Develop business case elements • Share research, lessons learned

  5. Regional Engagement Focus on: • Effective consultation mechanisms • Opportunities with federal, regional and local councils Objectives: • Share governance solutions • Prioritize service integration issues, e.g. horizontal funding

Looking ahead • Provinces and territories keen to move forward on integrating services • Interest in sharing public opinion research with Institute for Client-Centred Service and other jurisdictions • Success dependent on: • willingness to change – at all levels of government • sharing lessons learned, best practices, and organizing principles • addressing need for political visibility
