  1. Exam Preparation Strategies for Primary and Secondary School Students: Tips and Advice Examination time is very taxing and stressful for students, especially for secondary school students appearing for the board exam conducted by the state education board on a country-wide scale. All year round, the top 10 CBSE schools in Ahmedabad prepare the students by giving tests and assignments to revise the lessons taught in the class and gauge the level of understanding and preparation on the assessments. The final examinations are the litmus paper test of the work put in through the year, and thus the students need to study hard to score well and graduate to the next class with flying colours. Apart from the traditional methods for exam preparation, we are sharing some tips and strategies that will help lighten your stress while studying for the exam. Tips and Advice for Exam Preparation 1.Set a schedule: Students often make the mistake of leaving learning and revising till the last minute leading to stress and anxiety before the exam date, when this is the time you need to be calm and confident. Set a schedule for preparation by allocating the subjects and their syllabus an adequate period well before the month of the examination. Estimate the gap period you will require for the preparation and try your best not to miss the schedule that you have set for yourself. It is prudent to leave some extra time to fit in any contingencies.

  2. 2.Organise your notes: Running around at the last minute to complete the notes and answers that you missed during the academic year is not a good idea. Your friends will be busy studying and will not have the time or space to help you or share their notes with you. Teachers at the top schools in Ahmedabad may also be busy preparing exam papers amid other year- end responsibilities. Missing notes and answers can be a major source of stress leading to anxiety and at times, breakdowns. Stay up-to-date with your work and check your notebooks well in advance to fill in any gaps and solve your doubts. 3.Practice with old exam papers: Primary class teachers usually give important questions and practise sheets to their students that helps them prepare for their exams. Secondary school students should acquire old exam papers – their school library and bookshops selling school books often have bound collections of old exam papers. The exam papers will help you become familiar with the format, the timing of your writing speed and will also gauge the level of your preparation. 4.Take help from family: If you find it difficult to understand and learn your lessons, take help from your parents or sibling by asking them to help you memorize. Explaining and reciting the answers to a family member will help you gain clarity and highlight areas that need attention. 5.Study groups: It is natural to suddenly fill with doubts during exam preparation regarding a lesson or a formula. Many doubts can clear by talking to your friends via phone, but there are times when studying alone becomes monotonous, causing a loss of focus and will. Organise study groups to help you tide over these difficulties, as long as you determine to stay focused on your studies for the decided time, and do not take this opportunity to goof around and waste your time. 6.Eat healthily and take breaks: As food affects energy and concentration levels, it is sensible to have healthy food instead of snacking on junk food and aerated drinks. Junk food causes lethargy leading to loss of focus and dipping energy levels. Keep your body and brain well-fed and fuelled by eating nutritious foods like nuts, fruits, yoghurt, homemade fresh meals, salads and drinking enough water to stay hydrated. Sugar and aerated drinks may pep you up instantly and will crash equally fast, so try to avoid consuming sweets and colas as much as possible. 7.Plan and prepare for exam day: Make sure you have everything you need for your exam, like pens, pencils, erasers, scales, etc. Check all the rules and requirements, including your roll number, identity card, and examination ticket. Keep them all in one place to avoid chaos and stress later. Find your exam centre with the help of the list of CBSE schools in

  3. Ahmedabad, and do a test run to your exam centre for the board exam well before the day of the exam. You do not want to be searching for the centre on your exam day and reach late for the exam. Stay well-prepared and take your exam with confidence. Best of Luck!
