Caterpillar ECF-2 Test Criteria 500 hour – Steady State Test Cycle • Test Pass/Fail Criteria: • No Loss of Oil Consumption Control • No stuck rings/Loss of ring side clearance • No Liner Scuffing or Bore Polish • No Loss of Blowby Control • Measured Piston Deposits • EOT Oil Quality to be monitored

  5. Caterpillar ECF-2 Test Results Summary • Discrimination? • Temperature sensitivity to deposits validated • Field concerns validated • Test conditions defined • Low Reference Oil (Ref 1) selected • High reference being sought • Onus on Oil/Additive Industry to supply
