Annotated images – Changing Economic World (North South divide UK) It is hoped to encourage further investment and businesses around northern cities that will be easier to access due to the train line A new high speed train line (HS2) to connect cities in the north more with each other The North is considered not as developed as the South with average salaries, house prices and life expectancy being lower in many Northern regions One way in which the government are trying to address the North South divide in the UK For it to be constructed, lots of countryside will be lost, as well as housing – people will have to find a home elsewhere
