Required format of answers for all stages of the competition(Blitz, Bull's Eye, Co-Op, and Face-Off). • NEVER PROVIDE MORE THAN ONE ANSWER. An acceptable answer must be: 1) An integer. 2) A fraction in lowest terms (please note that fractions not written in lowest terms will be marked as wrong). 3) Another form or a radical (when specified). http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers
An integer: • Examples of acceptable integers: 0, -7, 23, +27, … • Examples of answers that will be marked as wrong: 0.00, 23.0, -(-27), … http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers

A radical • A radical is a non rational number. If the answer is such a number then the answer must be written as specified. • Examples of acceptable radicals: • Example of an answer that is not an acceptable radical: http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers
Other specified forms of answers: • If you are asked to provide a specific form of answer, you must provide it in the exact format that is specified: http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers
1) Decimal correct to specified number of decimal places. • Examples of acceptable decimals correct to 2 decimal places: 7.76, 99.00, 0.32, 1.23, … • Examples of answers that will be marked as wrong: 7.8, 99, 0.320, 1.234 , … http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers
2) Rounding of an answer: if you are asked to round your answer, you must round it to the specified format. • Examples of acceptable answers rounded to the nearest integer (when asked): 21, -37, 100, … • Examples of answers that will be marked as wrong: 21.001, -37.0, 99.99, … http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers

4) If the answer is monetary • (i.e. dollars and/or cents), then you must provide the answer in the exact format that is specified. If you are asked to answer in dollars then do not answer in cents and vise versa and follow any additional specific instructions. http://www.apeg.bc.ca/mathchallengers
