  2. They were deep and thoughtful, the eyes of a man who is used to looking at death. • Thoughtful means considerate, in other words care for others. Being considerate to somebody is not by looking at people die but by trying to prevent him from dying or giving him your best wishes.

  3. He was frightened back to his senses by the shock. His nerves steadied. The cloud of fear scattered from his mind and he laughed • Fear is a negative emotion that makes people scared. However, it brings joy to the sniper.

  4. Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother's face. • He had killed his own brother. This is situational irony as what is expected to happen does not. The trigger-happy sniper thought he had done a good job, before realizing that he had hurt his own kin, something bad.
