WHAT’S THE CENMA? CENMA: Centre d’Estudis de la Neui la Muntanyad’Andorra or Snow and Mountain Research Center of Andorra an entity of the Andorran Research Institute (IEA). An interdisciplinary research centre, funding by the Andorran Government, for advancing on the knowledge of the mountain environment. Collecting and diffusing biodiversity information with the SIBA project. Since 2010, the CENMA-IEA is the GBIF Node Manager of Andorra: Copenhagen, 28 September 2010: “on this day the Principality of Andorra became the Global Biodiversity Information Facility’s participant - further entrenching the network’s position as the world’s largest initiative for enabling free access to biodiversity data via the internet”. www.iea.adwww.cenma.ad
Andorran Node Update biodiversity database: connected to ONG, Environment Departments, Universities, Naturals Parks... Participation to GBIF events: · Training sessions organized during the GBIF Committee Meeting taking place in Buenos Aires (October 2011) · Online training: quality on biodiversity database (GBIF Spain, 2012) Control tasks:· Ensure the respect of authorship· Improving the efficiency of the databaseprocesses · Avoiding projects duplication Andorran Head of Delegation working on become a Voting Participant on the GBIF Governing Board
