6 Easy Steps • Download a video, song file, sound, etc • Type in a word and highlight it • Click on the word “Insert” in your toolbar • Click on the last link at the bottom and choose “Hyperlink.” • Navigate to your file and • Choose your video
5 Easy Steps • Go to tool bar • Click on “Insert” • Click on “Movies and Sound” • Click on “Movie from File” • Choose “Automatically” and video will play as soon as slide is shown • Or choose “When clicked” and video will play when you click on on it
Here are the steps • Log into Discovery Education streaming (www.discoveryeducation.com) • Search for an image(s) by keyword – You have your choice of 20,800! • Select an image Cells
Here are the steps • Download that image and place it into PowerPoint(tool bar, Insert>Picture>From File…) into slide # 1 • Now you have that you have your main picture. Insert a Text Box and call it _____ • Copy slide #1 and paste into PPT as slide #2 • Remove text box • Embed movie (tool bar, Insert>Movies and Sounds>Movie from File)
Here are the steps • Choose Automatically and the video will play once you arrive at that slide • To go back to slide # 1, insert a return button • To insert a return button, click on the down arrow next to the word AutoShape (lower left-hand corner of screen) • Choose Action Buttons and then Home • Draw a home in on your slide and tell it to go to the beginning slide
Here are the steps • We also hyperlinked to a video • To Hyperlink highlight text or image on your slide • Then go back to the toolbar and choose Insert>Hyperlink> and then… • A. Choose a file on your computer (video, image, etc)B. Choose a place inside your document (another slide)
Now for something really cool Embedding with all the bells and whistles! PC ONLY 1. Go to your tool bar and click on the word “View” 2. Click on Toolbars and then Control Tool Box This will bring up a box that looks like this:
Really Embedding Continued 3. Click on the Hammer And Wrench Icon 4. Scroll down and choose Windows Media Player This will change your cursor to a + symbol – Giving you the ability to draw a box
Really Embedding Continued 5. Draw a box and then right-click on the box and choose Properties
Almost there… 6. Click inside the blank box next to the box titled (Custom) and then click on the three little dots
Finding the video 7. Click on the Browse button to find the video that you want to embed, then check the Stretch to fit button and then click on the OK button
Voila! You have now embedded a video with controls like fast forward, rewind, pause, etc – play your PPT to see the video
With Office 2007 • Click on the Microsoft button (upper left-hand corner of the screen) • Click on PowerPoint Options • Check the box next to Show Developer Tab in ribbon • Click on the word “Developer” in your tool bar area • Click on the Hammer and Arrow • Follow the same steps listed before
On Demand Notes and Markups • Highlight text • Circle images • Illustrate concepts • Point out teachable moments • Move backward and forward through slides • Move your cursor over the far bottom left hand corner of the slide during presentation mode for the tools to become visible. • Once tools are visible left click them to activate available options. • Play around with them and make your presentations more interactive!
Here are the 5 easy steps: • Go up to the toolbar and select the word View • Then select Control Toolbox • Select the box with the “ab” inside it • Draw your boxes • View show and type in box
