  3. PHILOSOPHY is simply • the way you see situations & experiences in your life; • the way you view people & develop relationships with them; • it’s the value you put in all these.

  4. COACHING PHILOSOPHY is the underlying basis of everything that a coach does.

  5. Success as a coach depends more on your coaching philosophy; the rudderthat will direct your coaching style.

  6. As you begin developing your coaching philosophy, ask yourself these questions: ??? (test #1)

  7. Why am I coaching? (test #3) • Who am I coaching? • What kind of coach do I want to be? (test#4)

  8. The answers to these questions will impact your every thought, every action and your every decision as a coach.

  10. Coaching involves: training, instructing, guiding, motivating; impacts many areas of an athlete's life.

  23. To obtain the best out of the athlete, all the optimal have to be balanced; coaches should use this in their philosophies & styles. • Many athletes, parents and coaches focus much on winning, causing stress on the athlete, decreasing performance.
