  2. Purpose • Our purpose is to enable Iowa's students who are blind or visually impaired to function as independently as possible in all aspects of life by providing appropriate educational opportunities, resources, and support services.

  3. Mandatory Trainings • CPR for COMS-working on it • BloodbornePathogens is required yearly • Mandatory Reporter is every 5 years (Justin will send out reminder) • Go to: AEA Professional Development online http://training2.aea11.k12.ia.us/ Select GrantWood AEA, Iowa Braille School, using the password Braille2011

  4. Reminder • Payroll/Mileage emailed to Regional Director and Amanda • Payroll due by the 9:00 the Monday after the payroll period • Mileage due by the 3rdof the next month • Receipts need reimbursement forms

  5. IESBVI Staff Conference • When: October 8th & 9th • Where: Garden Hilton in Clive • Focus: Strategic Plan, Assessment

  6. Out of State Travel View Out of State Travel Groups on website Required Forms -Out of State Travel Professional Development Questionnaire (IBS forms) -Travel form (IBS forms) -Conference information (agenda, workshop information) -Send to Regional Director for approval

  7. Supervision See Summative Review-3 Year Review Cycle forms on website Forms are the same ones that have been used for the last three years There are models and blank templates Hard copies are available

  8. iPad All TVIs have iPads See iPad policy on website-Refer requests and questions to Sam ADC has iPads to checkout also COMS are discussing iPhones

Assessment of Braille Literacy Skills (ABLS) See ABLS Scoring form on website Used with all students using Braille New line asking if student is receiving Braille instruction-mark yes or no Used in gathering data for Strategic Plan Score sheets will be used to “drill down” in analysis of progress in braille skills by area. Form due May 1st

CRM Vision Database See CRM-Vision Database Instructions Review each area Check with Sam or Regional Director for training or questions Service area will be simplified Update service area for all students to include direct and consultation services for TVI and O&M services before leaving today
