  3. CCSSE: A Tool for Community Colleges • CCSSE data analyses include a three-year cohort of participating colleges. • The 2008 CCSSE Cohort includes more than 36,000 community college students from Texas. Community College Survey of Student Engagement

Colleges with high percentages of developmental students. • Having high percentages of developmental students can alter overall institutions scores on the CCSSE instrument. • Within the 2008 CCSSE cohort colleges in Texas: • The range of percentage of developmental students is 37% to 74%.
