Waterloo- Ontario • The University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science provides the only English optometric training in Canada. • The School delivers an accredited, four year degree program leading to a professional Doctor of Optometry (OD). • An extensive clinic program provides practical experience for students and health services for the public. • The School of Optometry and Vision Science also has an impressive program supporting research in Vision Science and Optometry.

Requirements > Optometry • Complete three or more years of Bachelor of Science studies • Complete all of the specified Optometry prerequisite courses by the deadline • Maintain a minimum overall university average of 75% • Optometry Admissions Test (OAT) • Confidential assessment forms • Citizenship • English language requirements • Non-academic application section Minimum GPA 75%

Requirements > Optometry Full-time course load ~Due to the rigorous nature of the full course load of the Optometry program, the Optometry Admissions Committee looks for applicants to be taking a full course load (five courses per four-month term for minimum 6 terms) during their BSc studies. Competitive GPA 92.5% English, Introductory Psychology, Introductory Ethics, Introductory Biology with lab, Introductory Microbiology, Physiology (human or mammalian), Introductory to Chemistry with lab, Introductory Biochemistry, Introductory Organic Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, Introductory Physics with lab
