  2. Games I chose 2. X-runner 3. Archery 1. Temple run 5. Jetpack joyride 4. Music hero

  3. Criteria I rated each category out of five. • Addictiveness – E.g. replay value • Entertainment value – Is it entertaining to play? • Gameplay – Original? Interesting? • Simplicity – Suitable for casual players? Any complicated mechanics? I used the average of these numbers to get the final score.

  4. Temple run • In this game you simply tried to run as far as you could go. • You can collect coins to buy power ups that help you get further through the level. • You can buy purely cosmetic items with the coins you collect • Scoring is based on the distance you ran as well as the coins/power ups you collect. Addictiveness – 4 Entertainment value -4 Gameplay -4 Simplicity -4.5 Overall score – 4.1

  5. X-runner • In this game you had to run as far as you can as well as collect coins. • Coins are used for upgrades that will help you. • Controls were very easy, it was jump or tilt. Addictiveness – 3.5 Entertainment value -3.5 Gameplay -3 Simplicity -4.5 Overall score – 3.6

  6. Archery • This was the simplest game, you tried to hit the target. • You would get 20 hits, hitting a bulls eye would result in another hit. • That’s all there is to it. Addictiveness – 2.5 Entertainment value -3 Gameplay -3 Simplicity -5 Overall score – 3.3

  7. Music hero • You have to tap the relevant colours at the correct time. • Tapping them at the perfect time will result in a combo going, increasing score. • You can insert your own music to play a long to. Addictiveness – 3.5 Entertainment value -3.5 Gameplay -3 Simplicity -4 Overall score – 3.5

  8. Jetpack Joyride • You have to try and get as far as possible whilst avoiding the many obstacles. • You collect power up as you go which change your character and give a extra life. • There is a large amount of upgrade content, some aesthetic, some improve your character. • Easy to understand the different power up mechanics. Addictiveness – 4.5 Entertainment value – 4.5 Game play – 4.5 Simplicity – 4 Total score – 4.3
