Outcome assessed:EPAS 2.1.6: Engage in research-informed practice and practice-informed research. • Practice Behavior #2 (Interdisciplinary Health Concentration): Complete literature reviews of the evidence base of the subject. • Practice Behavior #2 (Family and Community Concentration): Competently complete literature reviews. • Practice Behavior #3: (Interdisciplinary Health Concentration): Evaluate effectiveness of practice and programs in achieving intended outcomes. • Practice Behavior #3: (Family and Community Concentration): Promote the use of research (including evidence-based practice, qualitative and quantitative studies) to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of social work practice.

How the assessment was accomplished Course: SWK 630/631 Master’s Project Development/Master’s Project Implementation Instrument/Assignment: Literature review section of master’s project proposal Benchmark: 100% of students must achieve a "meets expectations' rating on the literature review section rubric. Sample size (all eligible): n=61 Course: SWK 611 & SWK 613 Field Practicum/Seminar 4 Instrument: Final field instructor evaluations Benchmark: 100% of students must achieve a 'competent' rating on the evaluation form. Range: 5=Advanced Competence, 4=Competent, 3=Emerging Competence, 2=Insufficient Progress, 1=Unacceptable Progress Sample size (all eligible): n= 47

7. What the data told us: 1. SWK 631: faculty are pleased with the high percentage of students who met expectations. The 3 students who did not meet expectations did not address copious feedback from faculty members to improve this section of their paper. 2. SWK 611/613: Field instructors (social work practitioners) may not be able to accurately judge these very ‘academic’ practice behaviors in the same context as a faculty member. Note: there are many practice behaviors for each competency and an average score of these behaviors count for the overall competency. Thus, if students are not achieving in one practice behavior, they may be exceeding in others which is acceptable for the accrediting body (CSWE).
