I have made this e-portfolio specially for my learners to develop their English skills (receptive- skills: Reading & Listening) within my teaching setting. I teach at an English academy in Gangnam, Seoul. My students are all Junior high students from grade 7 to grade9. I teach 3 different classes which are beginner , intermediate and high level. Each class contains about 10 students and I teach each class three times a week for 2 hours. I focus on teaching receptive skills which are reading and listening. I teach ‘reading 'using reading comprehension books series and YBM TOEIC practice book. In addition, I use extra materials such as English newspaper, and internet resources as supportive materials . For listening teaching, I use audio CDs and internet(YouTube, drama, video, news..etc). By using various materials for teaching, I make students to enjoy the class. Our academy is focused on giving useful environment for students to enjoy studying time and to get good grade on the tests as well. All the students at the academy are Korean and come from Junior high schools from various districts in Korea. For external factors, I need to keep on eye on each students to check their understanding of the class and I have to write on their development on English skills. Also, I have to follow up their school exams and TOEIC scores that I have to make practice sheets to prepare their other tests as well. Furthermore, I need to communicate with students’ parents once a month. I think the students will improve their English skills if they follow our specialized teaching program.
