Synch STARTING POINTS Dynamics of pollination Exploring the point of view of an individual plant or the whole ecosystem. Plants would be able to change to become more attractive to visitors. An ecosystem would be interested in maximizing its life by using all the plants. INPUT: proximity of visitors
Synch SYNCHRONIZATION To explore the emergent self-organization that arises from seeking synchronization which appears to be an ubiquitous and old principle that holds together living things. The installation consists of several LEDs who will synch their pulsing with their closest neighbors, until the whole population has synchronized. The presence of visitors will disrupt the synchronization. INPUT: presence of visitors BLACK BOX: consensus algorithm to synchronize pulsing. OUTPUT: synchronized blinking
Synch Installation: The installation is in a darkened area where 50-100 LEDs appear to float. The installation hangs from a suspended PVC square frame. The installation hangs about 6ft above the ground.

Synch Installation.
Synch With the lights on.
Patterns Some patterns emerged.
Synch Challenges Once assembled the installation ran too slow for the patterns to be visible to the naked eye. Changes An LED controller will be added.
