Editorial • An editorial is an essay or article that gives an opinion about a timely or important topic. • An editorial is a brief persuasive essay that expresses an OPINION, or viewpoint, about a timely and important topic. In an editorial, the writer 1) offers an opinion; 20 supports the opinion with a variety of facts, quotes, or statements; and 3) concludes by restating the opinion. • Editorials frequently appear in newspapers and magazines

VOTE “Yes” for a New Middle School When Rosa Parks Middle School opened its doors this past September, some students learned that they would be sitting on the floor rather than at their desks. Others were asked to pile their books and jackets on tables instead of in assigned lockers. Worse yet, most after school clubs were asked to hold their meeting in the hallways or off school grounds.
