  2. • Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) is a research based not-for-profit organisation. • IRTE has been dedicatedly working towards scientifically improving all domains of traffic management in which safety is an inherent virtue. • IRTE has been committed to Improving the Traffic Management System.

JOURNEY RISK MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT WORK? • The IRTE team conducting the road safety audit builds a scenario pre- empting the needs of a road user in various kinds of situations and risks. • Based on these needs and extensive research, the experts predict the type of support and information the road users will require to use the road network safely. • The pre-suppositions are based on police records of accidents, interviews with different kind of road users, the topography of the area.

  4. • Once the analysis of the data is complete, the entire section of the researched road is categorised into different risk areas with a colour code. • These ratings of the roads provide a methodology to measure the safety performance of a road network. The multifaceted approach of the Journey Risk Management process makes it useful for almost everyone, be it an industry or an individual.
