  3. Equipments to be carried • Pencil, sign pen, camera, water • Rubber shoes or canvas shoes, hat, coppertone • Compass, spirit level, map, meter rules • Transect line, quadrat frame • Thermometer, pH paper • Spade, Forceps, hand nets, specimen vials, plastic bottles, polythene bag, labels • First aid kit

  4. Investigate physical factors • Temperature • Wind direction • Types of rock • Wave action • pH of water • Profile of the site – line transect • Salinaty of sea water

  5. Investigate biological facters • Belt transect method • Collect sample, take photos • Species identification • Species quantity, distribution

  6. Report writing • Aims • Date, destination, tide, time • Weather, profile of the site with photo, physical factors, biological factors • Discuss the relationships between these two factors (adaptations/ pollution etc.) • Deadline: 15/07/08
