Take a sheet of white copy paper • You are pre-industrial artisans producing stationery, using only pens or pencils and a ruler. • The stationery must have three holes so it can fit in a binder , and it may be adorned with creative touches to make it visually appealing • Be precise and artistic. • You will have 7 minutes to complete your stationery; the student with the most adorned, and beautiful stationery will receive a prize

  2. How did you feel as an artisan crafting your product? • What were the advantages of producing the stationery by hand? • Disadvantages? • Are you proud of your creation? • How many of these could you create in an hour? • Would they be identical?

  3. How could you expedite (speed up) the process? • How could you ensure that each page was identical • What are the benefits of doing those things? • What are the costs? • What impact would these methods have on the price of these items? • Overall, would using a hole-punch machine and a color copier be an improvement in making stationery? Why? Why not?
